Atlas Ascent LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information
when you use our Atlas mobile application ("App"). Please read this policy carefully.
Your Health Data Privacy
Atlas collects fitness and workout data to provide our services. We treat this information
with the highest level of care and security.
We do NOT sell your personal or health data to third parties.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
a) Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: Email address, username, password, and display name
- Profile Information: Profile photo, bio, age, gender, height, weight, and fitness goals (optional)
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Apple; we do not store your payment card details
b) Fitness and Health-Related Data
- Workout Data: Exercises performed, sets, reps, weight lifted, duration, rest times, and workout notes
- Progress Data: Personal records, workout history, training volume, streaks, and achievements
- Body Metrics: Body weight, body measurements (if provided voluntarily)
c) Device Permissions and Sensor Data
- Camera Access: Atlas may request access to your device's camera to allow you to take profile photos, record exercise form videos, or scan barcodes. Photos and videos captured through the App are used only for the purposes you initiate. Camera access can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
- Location Data: Atlas may request access to your device's location to provide location-based features such as gym check-ins, nearby gym suggestions, or outdoor workout tracking. We collect location data only while you are actively using the App (foreground access) unless you explicitly grant background location permission. Location access can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
- Push Notifications: Atlas may request permission to send push notifications for workout reminders, achievement alerts, social interactions, and account updates. You can manage notification preferences within the App or through your device settings.
- Apple Health / HealthKit: If you choose to connect Apple Health, we access health and activity data only with your explicit permission. This data is used solely to provide fitness tracking and performance insights. We do not sell or share HealthKit data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
d) Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version
- Usage Data: App features used, session duration, and interaction patterns
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs (for analytics purposes)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Atlas app and its features
- To track your workouts and display your fitness progress
- To personalize your experience and provide AI-powered workout recommendations
- To process transactions and manage your subscription
- To send you notifications about workouts, achievements, and account activity
- To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- To analyze usage patterns and improve app performance
- To provide location-based features such as gym check-ins and outdoor workout tracking
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics) who are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only to provide services on our behalf
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the safety of our users
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share specific information
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- All data transmission is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS)
- Passwords are hashed using secure algorithms (bcrypt)
- Data is stored on secure, access-controlled servers

5. Your Privacy Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

- Data Portability: Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format

- Revoke Permissions: Revoke camera, location, or notification permissions at any time through your device settings

6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California
Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information is being collected

- Right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed
to provide services. When you delete your account:
- Your profile, workout data, and personal information will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- Some data may be retained longer if required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes
- Aggregated, anonymized data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics
8. Children's Privacy
Atlas is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected
personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps
to delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal
information, please contact us immediately at privacy@atlasfit.app.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or
other countries where our service providers maintain facilities. By using Atlas, you
consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of
residence, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible
for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy
policies of any third-party services before providing personal information.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material
changes by posting a notice in the App or by sending an email to the address associated
with your account. Your continued use of Atlas after such modifications constitutes
your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
